What a week.

After five brutal weeks of losses, the market has now posted back-to-back winning weeks for the first time since January. The Nasdaq surged +4.7% this week, its best performance since November. The S&P 500 added +3.6%. The catalyst was clear: the U.S. and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, with Iran partially reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

The week did not move in a straight line. Monday was cautious, Tuesday saw slim gains as Pakistan brokered last-minute negotiations. Then Wednesday happened. Trump announced the ceasefire, markets exploded. The Nasdaq surged 3.5% in a single session, the Dow gained nearly 3%. Asian markets followed overnight with South Korea’s Kospi up almost 7%.
